The pStyle in the Media

The pStyle began way back in 2006. Over the past two decades, we've met thousands of customers, sold hundreds of thousands of pStyles—and the pStyle has made a pretty big splash. Here's a selection of our favorite press appearances:

1. New York Times Magazine

The Pure Liberation of a Personal Urination Device,” New York Times Magazine, December 2024.

This incredible write-up in the NYT Magazine introduced the world to our little “plastic aqueduct,” which the writer deems “revolutionary!”

“Despite the revulsion [!] of some friends,” she writes, “I’ll continue to evangelize for these devices. They level the playing field where public urination is concerned.”

Thank you, NYT! And don't forget to tell all your friends!

 2. Boston Globe

Terrible Taylor Swift traffic and lessons learned: From podcasts to bathroom breaks, here’s how to prepare,” Boston Globe. May 2023.

Pick your Swift era and choose a color,” this writer advises. Bring a pStyle to your next Taylor Swift concert (or any arena show)—you can skip the line and use the urinals!

This article showed us colors we can't see with anyone else. Hey, Tay—if you're reading this, reach out! We'll send you whatever color you want!

 3. Slate

You Should Be Using a Stand-to-Pee Device,” Slate. July 2020.

“This is an extraordinarily simple, dare I say elegant device. Just shove the wide back end into your pants, pee, and point the narrower front end where you want the pee to go.”

We agree—you should be using a stand-to-pee device!

4. Geological Society of America

Feeling Relieved: Creating a Positive Bathroom Field Culture in the Geosciences,” GSA Today. March 2024.

The pStyle makes a small but mighty cameo appearance in this barrier-smashing article about equity in the field sciences. It's not easy to work as a scientist in the field and deal with difficult coworkers. Patriarchy is everywhere, even outdoors—and the pStyle is here to help!

5. Backpacker Magazine

The Complete Guide to Female Urination Devices,” Backpacker. October 2023.

“Resembling a tiny waterslide, [the pStyle] is very compatible with pants and makes a solid seal, allowing you to keep your mind on hiking instead of the safety of your underwear.” Thanks for the nod, Backpacker! Hikers love to carry a pStyle!

 6. Adventure Cycling

Pee in Style,” Adventure Cycling. December 2022.

“The next day, I used my pStyle for the first time, wearing long underwear, bib overalls, bib rain gear, wool sweater, thick rain jacket, and forestry vest. I peed standing up, it was smooth and easy, and my worries that I would get urine everywhere proved to be unfounded. Best of all, I didn’t have to freeze my butt off, huddled behind a huckleberry bush, getting rained on. It doesn’t have to be about peeing like a guy unless you want it to be. For me, it was about peeing standing up and remaining comfortable. I yelled out, ‘Claire! This thing is awesome!’”

7. Outside Magazine

Our Favorite Pee Funnels,” Outside. December 2022.

They say the pStyle is “best for when you’re harness bound”—we couldn’t agree more, but we think it’s the best no matter what!

8. The Trek

The Thru-Hiker’s Guide to Female Urination Devices for Backpacking,” The Trek. September 2022.

My personal favorite. The pStyle is sleek, lightweight, and straightforward. And, most importantly, it’s easy to clean. The pStyle is totally open and made of rigid plastic, so you can rinse every part of it and let it dry in the sun easily. Also, it’s easy to aim, which is more than I can say for certain other funnels I tried. There's no learning curve with this one. . . . ”

9. Garage Grown Gear

Power to the pStyle — an 0.8 Ounce PUD Eliminating the Need to Squat!,” Garage Grown Gear. November 2020.

“Squatting is a thing of the past, now freedom abounds. Without having to derobe from the waist down and worrying about a place to go, you can literally pee anywhere that nature and leave no trace principles allow. You can simply turn around from the crowd and do your business while safely watching your surroundings.”

10. Mashable

“The best pee funnels for camping, road trips, and more,” Mashable. September 2020.

“This pee funnel is notable for lots of reasons: It's affordable, dishwasher-safe, and branded to be gender-inclusive (a bar literally none of the other options on this list clear). Best of all, though, it's very leak-resistant.”

Thanks for recognizing our gender-neutral branding! The pStyle is for people of all genders.

Why It’s Great for Women: It means women can pee standing up. Enough said.

The pStyle: How to Stand & Pee While Fully Clothed,” Women’s Wine Hiking Society. April 2024.

Needless to say, when I got home, I immediately bought [a pStyle] and tried it.  Since then, it has been on every backpacking, hiking, and day trip I take.”

Bottoms up!
